Improvements to the Mazeppa Community Center done well ahead of the original maintenance and replacement schedule, a new sign at Lion's Park, the skating rink, the sledding party, the lighting at the basketball court. These all happened much earlier than thought possible due to the generosity of our local community service organizations and private businesses. I have always appreciated community service organizations in small communities. The members of these organizations volunteer a great deal of time and effort in serving our community.

The events that these organization are fun opportunities for the community to come together and get to know each other. The funds raised at these events go back into the community. Donations are made to all types of worthy causes such as individuals in need, the community schools, and to the City. So if you know a member of the Lion's Club, the American Legion, Fire Relief, or Mazeppa Days committee, give them a word of thanks. Not only do they bring the community together with these social gatherings, but the funds raised go to providing recreation and amenities that are used and appreciated by the entire community.
