Laura Lynn Kautz

Laura Lynn Kautz, age 55 of Zumbro Falls, passed to her eternal home on Thursday, December 9, 2021 as a result of cardiac arrest.  She was born August 8, 1966 in Chicago, IL to William and Nancy (Frahm) Rogers.  Laura was baptized and confirmed at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church in Coon Valley, WI.  She had a strong personal relationship with Jesus her savior.  Laura graduated from Westby High School in 1984.  In August of 1986 she married Danny Mickelson and they had two children together, Skyler and Danielle.  She worked as a dental office manager for 18 years, the last 3 ½ years at Pepin Valley Dental. 

On September 14, 2019 she married the love of her life, Kevin Lee at the beautiful Zumbro Falls Golf Club.  The two were members of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester since 2016.  In addition to her work at the dental office she helped with her husband, Kevin Lee’s golf club in Zumbro Falls.  She loved giving guests tours on the golf carts.  She loved the outdoors, camping, boating, photographing nature, sunrises and sunsets.  She loved working in their grape vineyard and caring for their horses, jersey girl calf, and most of all her special dog Tanner.  Laura was a real people person with a big personality and a beautiful smile.  She had a big heart and showed her compassion and kindness to everyone.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, and attending their sporting events. 

Laura has left the following survivors with a broken heart, husband, Kevin Lee Kautz; daughter, Danielle (Esden) Schreier; Step-sons, Kaleb Kautz and Brandon Cragle; daughter-in-law Crystal (Jake) Saunders; grandchildren, Aubrey Mickelson, Brody and Oaklie Schreier, Brynn and Rylie Saunders, Melinda Hyne, Harmony Cragle, Melody Cragle; parents, William and Nancy Rogers; sister, Lisa (Jason Burke) Rogers; in-laws, Dale and Karen Kautz; two brothers-in-law, Keith (Joleen) Kautz, Kurt Kautz; special aunt Sue; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her son, Skyler Mickelson; sister, Angel Olsen; nephew, Zachary Stach; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Lois Frahm; paternal grandparents, William and Linda Rogers.  Her light will forever shine in our hearts!

Funeral for Laura will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester with Reverend Benjamin Loos officiating.  (Masks are recommended)  Burial will take place at Pleasant Prairie Dale Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and for one hour prior to the service at Church on Wednesday.  Memorials are preferred to Redeemer Lutheran Church.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
