Zumbro Falls City Council Meeting - December 14, 2022

The Zumbro Falls City Council met at City Hall with all members present. Also present was Fire Chief Nate Richardson and Bob Benson.

The meeting was called to order at 6PM. The clerk read to council the minutes from the November meeting that were accepted as read by a motion from Anderson, seconded Dennison, all in favor, carried. Jason gave the treasurer’s report with acceptance by a motion from Dennison, seconded Anderson, all in favor, carried.

The Fire Department election for 2023 results are as follows: Fire Chief, Scott Kennedy, lst Assistant Brad Tighe, 2 nd Assistant, Chris Conrad, President Matt Fick, Vice President Ike Klees, Secretary Leon Sexton, Treasurer Bob Benson, Training Officer Philip Heitmann, Assistant Training Officer Logan Deobald, Emergency Management Scott Kennedy, and Fire Relief members Bob Benson, and Tyler Blim. Council accepted election results with a motion from Anderson, seconded Dennison, all in favor, carried.

Christmas festival expenses were presented to the City and paid to the Lions for miscellaneous expenses and Trophy Store and More for the Christmas ornaments. Lighting contest winners were Dana Oelkers, Neptune, Jordan Moon, and Darla Meyer.

Agreement to pay Daren Hofshulte for the second half TIF levy in the amount of $30,641.00 was agreed by a motion from Bankers, seconded Anderson, all in favor, carried. Business licenses for the year 2023 will be renewed by a motion from Dennison, seconded Anderson, all in favor,carried. Motion to keep the 2023 levy in the amount of $78,916.00 was made by Anderson, seconded Bankers, all in favor, Carried.

Resolution #22-05 was put in place with a motion from Bankers, seconded Dennison, all in favor, carried. This authorizes the City of Zumbro Falls Fire Department to enter into a joint and cooperative agreement for purchasing of self-contained breathing apparatus.

Motion for the clerk to pay bills presented and the meeting to adjourn at 7PM was made by Anderson, seconded Dennison, all in favor, carried.
