Zumbro Falls City Council Minutes - October 9, 2024
The Zumbro Falls Council met at City Hall with all members present. Also attending the meeting was Sam Meyers and Planning and Zoning Administrator, Jason Faas.
The meeting was called to order by the mayor at 6PM.
Clerk read the minutes from the September meeting to council which were accepted as read with a motion from Anderson, seconded Bankers, all in favor, carried.
Treasurer’s report followed with acceptance with a motion from Benson, seconded Anderson all in favor, carried.
Sam Meyers, representing the Zumbro Valley Snowmobile Assoc., asked council for permission to hold a raffle on March 4th, 2025. Council agreed to the request.
Jason said that because of the recent weather there were 12 permits applied for. Discussion on costs incurred and questions about permits it was decided to have a representative from CMS be invited to the next council meeting. Jason agreed to forward the invite.
Ordinance 01-25 was put in place with a motion from Benson, seconded Anderson, all in favor, carried. This is an ordinance granting to Northern State Power Company permission to construct, operate, repair, and maintain lines, poles, fixtures for the furnishing of electric energy to the City of Zumbro Falls. Clerk will publish it in the city paper.
Notice will be sent to all residents about not parking on city streets during the winter months when plowing needs to be done.
Discussion was made concerning investments available for excess City funds. A motion was made by Benson, seconded Bankers, all in favor, to purchase a CD for 6 months with 1st State Bank Red Wing, Mazeppa Branch, in the amount of $300,000.00.
Meeting to adjourn and the clerk to pay all bills presented followed with a motion from Benson
seconded Bankers, all in favor, carried.
