Spring snowfall is a tough cleanup. Unpaved are too soft to plow, the snow is heavy and hard to push, and the piles can’t be hauled because the area that the snow is hauled to is too soft to drive on. The City crew works through these weather events, but it’s not an easy task.

Another tough spring task is getting rid of accumulations of junk that have built up over the past year. This is a reminder that if you have appliances, furniture, or other items to large to be put in the trash, bring it to the annual City Cleanup day. On Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM bring your appliances, furniture, and other items to be discarded to 2nd Ave. NE and Walnut Street. City residents already pay for this event though a surcharge on the water sewer utility billing. Watch for a letter and event notice with your March water sewer billing that states what can be dropped off and what we will not take, as well as limitations and charges for certain items. We will be looking forward to seeing what you bring to Cleanup Day.
