Zumbro Falls City Council Meeting - June 14, 2023

The Zumbro Falls Council met at City Hall. The mayor called the meeting to order at 6PM. Council person Paul Bankers was absent. Also present was Scott Kennedy and Brian Schumacher from Rochester Sand and Gravel.

Clerk read to council the minutes from the May meeting that were accepted as read with a motion from Anderson, seconded Benson, with all in favor, carried.

Treasurer’s report followed with acceptance by a motion from Benson, seconded Anderson, all in favor, carried.

Brian met with a few city residents concerning the environment and trucking at the Asphalt plant. Truck routing was changed and questions were addressed.

Probation is complete for Nick Poncelet and is now a full time volunteer firefighter. Air packs will not be received until sometime in August. Scott is working on business interest and pricing for the purchase of advertisement signs to be placed on the ball field fence. Approval to move forward on this project was made with a motion from Benson, seconded Anderson, all in favor, carried.

Donations presented were accepted with a motion from Benson, seconded Anderson, all in favor, carried. David Kehren for $150.00 to be used for truck maintenance, Spring Creek for $1,500.00 for the memorial, and VFW Post 1802 in the amount of $4,000.00 to purchase a bench for the veterans to be placed at the memorial.

Clerk will forward $29,250.00 to Daren Hofschulte for the lst half TIF collected. Motion made for

approval by Anderson, seconded Benson, all in favor, carried.

Motion made for the clerk to pay all bills presented and the meeting to adjourn was made by Benson, seconded Anderson, all in favor, carried.
