Zumbro Falls City Council Minutes - September 13, 2023
The Zumbro Falls City Council met at City Hall on Wednesday at 6PM.
All Council Members were present along with Darla Oelkers, representing the Zumbro Falls Lions/Lionesses.
The Meeting was called to order by the Mayor. The clerk read the minutes of the August meeting to council which were accepted as read with a motion from Anderson, seconded Bankers, all in favor, Carried.
The Treasurer’s report followed with acceptance by a motion from Benson, seconded Bankers, all in favor, carried.
Darla addressed council with a proposal for a scoreboard to be purchased and installed for Cardinal Park. A donation has already been secured by VFW gambling funds to be used toward the project. Council agreed for the project to move forward with a motion from Benson, seconded Anderson, all in favor, carried. Darla will keep council updated on the project details.
Discussion was made on repairs needed to Hilltop Drive. Bruce will get bids for a temporary fix to get by until next year as repairs for School Drive and Wagon Wheel Dr. were costly for this year.
A motion for the City to lock in with Lawler Gas for L/P at $1.43/gallon, for 2,307 gallons, was made by Anderson, seconded Benson, all in favor, carried.
After discussion the Sewer and Water Budget presented was accepted for the year 2024 with a motion from Bankers, seconded Benson, all in favor, carried.
The General Budget was also approved for the 2024 year with a motion from Bankers, seconded Benson, all in favor, Carried. To meet expenses for the coming year a 7.5% levy increase will be put in place.
A motion followed for the clerk to pay bills presented and the meeting to adjourn was made by
Anderson, seconded Benson, all in favor, carried.
